What's going on here?
A Book Retreat! For Book Lovers!
-
What is a Book Retreat?
The Book(ish) Retreat is a weekend for book lovers to get together and get away. It takes place from Thursday - Sunday at a private property, and includes games, activities, and lots of down time for reading.
-
What Activities Can I Expect?
Each Retreat is Different! At our 2025 Fall Retreat, we had a lot of Quiet Reading Time, learned Macrame (crafts for the win!), had a Makeup Tutorial, Did an Oracle Deck Tarot Reading, Went on a Hike, Did Yoga, Went Wine Tasting, Went out to Dinner, Discussed 4 Books, Had a Powerpoint Party, and Played Bookish Bingo.
-
What Books Will We Read at the Book(ish) Retreat?
There will be one general book discussion that everyone is invited to and supplementary genre discussions. The books haven’t been announced yet, but the main book is a cozy fantasy and the genre choices are a sports romance and a horror fantasy.
-
How Much Does the 2026 Spring Book Retreat Cost?
This depends on your sleeping arrangements. For the 2026 Spring Retreat, Solo Rooms cost more than Solo Beds which Cost more than Shared Beds, and the smaller beds or Pullouts cost less than the larger beds or private rooms.
Your registration cost also covers included meals, welcome gifts, all included activities (hiking, yoga, crafts, etc), and the general book mailed to you before the retreat!
-
Can I Attend but Not Spend the Night?
Many of the Retreats include an option for a Weekend Pass, which includes activities and meals with other attendees. More information is available on the pass’s page.
-
Who is Welcome to Attend?
Our first retreat was a group of women in their 20s, 30s and 40s who were all already friends. We hope that future retreats will involve strangers becoming friends and small groups becoming large. We require that all attendees be over 21.
-
Will We Interact with the Community?
Yes! Every retreat includes leaving the house a couple times, including wine tasting, book shopping, and more! Do you know of a business that we should interact with? Let us know!

This Sounds Great But a Bit Too Intense for Me...
Stay Tuned! Other Retreats, Events, and Activities will be available too! We’re considering a trip to the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books in April, additional Retreats, and maybe a few Book(ish) activity days in 2026!
